Cave B Getaway

A couple of weeks ago, Kevin & I took a much needed weekend getaway to Cave B Inn in eastern Washington! I’d been wanting to go to Cave B since we went to Sasquatch back in 2013 and I heard about people spending the night in the yurts. I’m also dying to shoot a wedding there – it would be an incredible backdrop! Eastern Washington feels like a completely different place – desert bluffs, the Columbia River gorge, wind turbines dotting the horizon. Fall foliage was still in full swing on the drive over & the vineyards looked absolutely gorgeous cloaked in yellow leaves.  I try to not make Kevin be my model too much, but he was a great sport on our weekend away – pulling the car over on the side of the highway when I asked him to and even snapping a few photos of me! Unfortunately (fortunately?) we were upgraded to one of the rooms right on the Columbia River (the yurts were water logged from all of the rain we’ve been having). The view was stunning & I felt like I was waking up on a different planet each morning. We went wine tasting, ate our fill at the Tendrils restaurant and Lemon loved running through the vineyard. We also made a trek south to the White Bluffs at Hanford Reach. Talk about wide open spaces! It felt great to go out on a little adventure and get away from the city for a couple of days. I’m looking forward to our next adventure in Costa Rica – traveling with this guy is my favorite!

This was the view from our room! So peaceful!
