Elegant DeLille Cellars Wedding: Amy & Phil

The last week has been a flurry of travel & time outdoors. Kevin and I spent last weekend hiking on the peninsula with his parents before they move back to Virginia. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to them after having them here in Washington with us for the past four years. They made my move cross-country move infinitely easier, knowing I had a set of supportive parents on the west coast. We’d go to Sounders matches & art exhibits. They’d cook us delicious meals, babysit Lemon if we went out of town, and host us for holidays. Jeff will be taking a new post in the Navy & they’ll be a short drive away from my sister-in-law, Erica, (all good things) but I am not-so-secretly hoping that they will move back to the Pacific Northwest as soon as possible! First thing Monday morning I hit the road with my best friend from college to visit a fellow Wahoo in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. We were drenched in sunshine laying on their dock on Kalamalka Lake & I learned how to wake-surf! We went on morning runs and finished them by jumping in the (chilly) lake with our clothes on. It was perfection. We reluctantly returned home on Thursday, only for me to hop in the car again the next day with Kevin to go camping for the weekend on the Washington coast! We met up with our friends (and fellow Cavalier owners) from Portland in Ocean City and hiked around the Olympic National Forest. We saw the largest Sitka Spruce tree in the world & Lemon splashed in the Pacific ocean (make sure you’re following along on instagram at @meredithmckee for all of these adventures!) Needless to say, a good hard sleep & road-trip detox was definitely in order come Monday morning!

Getting back in the groove after a mini mid-summer vacation was easy with these images on my screen. Amy & Phil’s wedding day at DeLille Cellars was an absolute dream. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these two since they moved to Seattle a few years ago and my sister introduced us. Amy was actually my sister’s “big” in their sorority! It’s a small world guys. Capturing the love between Amy & Phil is easy – The way they look at each other is exactly why I do what I do. Their wedding day was no exception – the morning was quiet, relaxed. Amy helped button her mother’s dress, fix her bridesmaid’s hair, and slipped into her glittery ballet flats. Phil played cards with is groomsmen and awaited Amy’s arrival for their first look. His reaction was priceless. Jaw on the floor, laugh out loud, completely enamored of his soon-to-be wife. Sun was beaming through the trees around the enchanting DeLille property as Amy processed towards the small island where the ceremony would take place. It was a long walk, but Amy was greeted by a beaming groom. Amy & Phil said “I Do” surrounded by glistening water and a circle of friends and family, one of the most unique ceremony set-ups I’ve ever seen. These two are big foodies so it was no surprise that extremely careful detail and attention was paid to the fare for the evening. Herban Feast totally knocked it out of the park with delicate hors d’oeuvres and a 3-course dinner menu customized by the couple. The caesar salad recipe came from Amy’s family, and the second course featured mouth-watering Korean kimchee. Last but not least was the most delicious Khalbi beef & salmon served family-style. Each guest received individual boxes of Seattle favorite, Fran’s chocolates, at their place setting.  Full of delicious food & delicious DeLille wine, the guests partied the night away, showing off some pretty epic dance moves. Phil, in particular, was a rockstar. I love it when the groom breaks it down on the dance floor!! After some late-night pizza, guests lined up for a classic sparkler send-off. Amy & Phil headed out soon after for an incredible honeymoon in Thailand – making me sentimental for my own honeymoon there two years ago!

Congratulations, Amy & Phil – I am so glad I got to capture your celebration & I can’t wait to get together soon & toast to the new Mr. & Mrs. Lentz! Here’s to many more dance parties, bottles of wine, and happy years together! xx

I absolutely adore how Amy describes how she & Phil met… “Amy first ran into Phillip one night out on the town in Washington, DC. Having a pleasant evening with her friends, she happened upon a lone young man at the esteemed Local 16 restaurant and bar. With all the grace she could muster, she calmly approached him with the line of the century. “You’re cute”. Phillip, immediately understanding the importance of this singular moment, stopped what he was doing, promptly cancelled all his plans, and joined Amy and her friends.” Major heart eyes.

These little flower girls we’re the cutest. They also have another little sister – their dad is in trouble!

Their ceremony setting was so serene & beautiful! The sun created a natural spotlight on them as well!

I loved their custom wine corks with the wedding date & names for escort card holders!!

Is your mouth watering yet?! Herban Feast is seriously amazing!

I believe this moment was when Phil’s sister told the story of Phil revealing that Santa wasn’t real. Priceless.
