Marisa & Mike: Roche Harbor Wedding

Roche Harbor Wedding

Hot tip: swiping right on Tinder leads to an elegant, joyful wedding at Roche Harbor! Marisa & Mike fit as perfectly as her grey velvet wedding shoes. An overarching feeling of calm embraced their wedding day. Mike relaxing with his groomsmen in the cottage. Marisa enjoying her mom & maids in the McMillan suite as finishing touches were made on hair and makeup. When I arrived, there was already laughter spilling out of the patio doors and over the balcony. Marisa & her bridesmaids greeted me with hugs. They struck poses for the camera, and were some of the most helpful ladies I’d ever worked with. One of Marisa’s maids of honor explained that Marisa had been there for so many of them on their wedding days. Now they were thrilled to stand by her side on hers.

Rain is for Good Luck

The rain teased us all day, but held off until we were inside for the reception. Marisa’s cousin officiated the ceremony, and there wasn’t a dry eye during their vows. I loved all of the nicknames Marisa has for Mike. I later learned, during toasts, that these are used frequently, and changed often. There were a few sprinkles when I took them out for portraits in the evening, but the golf cart ride provided adequate coverage. Also, are golf carts not just a blast to ride in?!

Rose Gold & Navy

The details for Marisa and Mike’s wedding were perfection. Mismatched chiffon bridesmaid dresses. The most gorgeous bridal bouquet by Bloom San Juan. Marisa’s rose gold and light blue sapphire engagement ring. Matched by her rose gold dress and Mike’s navy suit. All of this complemented by the stunning surroundings of the peaceful waterfront and sunken garden ceremony space. When we were waiting for the first look, I complimented Mike’s rose gold wedding band. I thought it was unique and so special to match Marisa’s rings. He explained that it was easy planning their wedding because they have such similar taste. In decor decisions, in what to prioritize, and how to celebrate. That, my friends, is the foundation of a beautiful marriage!

Congratulations, Marisa & Mike! Wishing you many joyful years together!

“Sleep in, walk over to Caffe Umbria or make a Dutch Baby for breakfast. Go to Pike Market for flowers and goodies, binge watch our current favorite TV show. If its a weekend in the winter, Mike might head out early to the mountains for some skiing while Marisa takes their dog Niko to the park, gets her nails done and finds a way to justify eating one of General Porpoise’s delicious donuts!”
