Kevin & I recently marked 4 years of marriage (!!) and celebrated by taking anniversary photos for the first time! I also FINALLY got our wedding album made!! This was a big year, guys!! I’ve been thinking more and more about how I want to celebrate my clients’ marriages by taking anniversary photos & I figured I better practice what I preach! I asked my good friend & wonderfully talented photographer, Jenn Repp, if she would capture this milestone for us. I wanted to go somewhere quintessential PNW and Rattlesnake Lake felt like the perfect fit. Mind you, Lemon goes absolutely NUTS when she is near water (all she wants to do in life is swim) so that was a total #dogmomfail. Luckily, Jenn is a magician & made her look like her sweet (albeit enthusiastic) self!
Where you are, right now.
Anniversary sessions are a great way to celebrate wherever you are in your marriage. Kevin & I didn’t want to wait until we had kids, for example, to capture our family. I am all about celebrating all of the little (and big!) things in life. Each milestone of marriage is no exception! Anniversary photos are also a great opportunity to go wherever you want for portraits. Love exploring the PNW? Grabbing a cocktail in the city? Go for it! Tell the story of your relationship how it is in this moment, because that is truly beautiful.
Unfortunately, Kevin dropped Lemon’s leash by accident before we even started taking photos with her & she made a bee-line for the lake. Just look at her sticking her tongue out at Kevin!!! What a punk!
We popped over to Meadowbrook Farm for a few shots at the end too! You know I had to break out my stellar dance moves…
A million thank you’s, Jenn! Here’s to many more years of marriage!!
Here’s a little peek at what Jenn had to say – I am beyond thankful for industry friends turned real-life friends like her!
“I was beyond excited to get her in front of my camera since she’s been photographing my family over the past year and a half. We ventured out to Rattlesnake Lake where I ooo’d and ahh’d at the connection she has with her husband, Kevin, the incredible scenery, and of course, their adorable dog, Lemon. Lemon was really only interested in jumping in the lake, so she spent most of her time yelping for freedom (yay for no volume on still photos–ha ha) and even managed to escape once (she’s quick!) but we were still able to get some sweet photos that included her.”
Tag, you’re it!
