Rosehill Community Center Wedding: Jessica and Joell

Jessica & her sister, Haley, took their dad to Wild Ginger for Father’s Day. They were waiting for their server to take their order when a handsome busser came to refill their water glasses. He immediately caught Jessica’s eye, so her dad went into that “let’s find out more about this guy” mode that only dads can do so well. He told their server that his daughter was interested in that young man, asked the other servers about him, and joked & prodded the poor guy every time he came to the table. Joell didn’t skip a beat. Impressed by all of the kind words his coworkers had to say about him and how he could keep up with her dad, Jessica decided to leave her number for Joell as they left the restaurant. To her surprise, Joell had also left his number on their to-go box. And that, my friends, is one of the sweetest love stories I’ve heard!

Jessica’s one requirement for their wedding venue was being able to see the water. They landed on the stunning views from Rosehill Community Center & mother nature gifted them a lucky March day. We’ve been having a bit of a dreary winter here in Seattle, and the forecast leading up to their wedding day was about 100% chance of rain at all times. The clouds were misty in the morning as Jessica & her girls got ready at the Silver Cloud. Jessica anxiously gazed out the window at the arriving and departing ferries. Her sister helped her into her dress, laced up her sparkly Kate Spade Keds & the skies softened. Jessica met her dad on the docks overlooking the Sound for one of the sweetest daddy-daughter first looks I’ve witnessed.

The sun began beaming through the windows as Jessica walked down the isle. Her aunt & cousin sang the room to tears. Jessica & Joell spoke words of joy, hope, promise & commitment. They said “I do”! Just before the sun dipped behind the low-laying clouds, I snuck them over to a little patch of grass that overlooked the water. A few quiet moments to themselves to capture that just married glow before the reception kicked into high gear, and they partied the night away with their family and friends. Their sweetness and happiness filled my heart! Jessica’s dad surprised her with light-up sneakers & she surprised him with Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville during their father-daughter dance. Their day couldn’t have been a better way to kick off my 2017 wedding season!

Haley watching their first look was a beautiful sister moment. I couldn’t help but snap a few photos of her!

Joell’s reaction during their first look was priceless! I was told early on in the day that he was an emotional guy – his tears of happiness throughout the day made everything that much sweeter!

I’m always about a dance party!! Love this guy!

I love these custom lined Indochino suits! Joell even had his embroidered with their wedding date!

I was seriously obsessed with their sparkly sneakers!! Keds for Kate Spade for the win!

Jessica turned around to see her bridesmaids waiting for her on the pier – she stopped in her tracks to exclaim how amazing they looked – it was such a sweet moment!

The light streaming in the windows during the ceremony was breathtaking!

First Dance: “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole

Do you see this shoes!? I mean seriously. Coolest dad award!!

Father-Daughter Dance: “Butterfly Kisses” turned “Margaritaville” (with props, of course!)

I couldn’t have said it better than Jessica did on her instagram the day after…

“We told ourselves before the wedding that it wasn’t going to be the ‘best day of our lives’ but only the first day of the rest of our lives. In reality, it was easily the happiest day of our lives so far. I danced the night away with my best friends in matching glittery tennis shoes, listened to my aunt and cousin sing a room to tears, learned that you really don’t even need plates to have an epic dinner party, sang along to ‘Margaritaville’ with my dad and all my favorite people in the world, and promised to love my best friend every day for the rest of my life. We are blessed beyond words and so grateful to have been surrounded by love this weekend.” – Jessica

Jessica & Joell – You two are some of the sweetest people I have had the pleasure of knowing & I am so excited for what your marriage has in store. Wishing you all the joy & love life can bring! Cheers to you! xo
