Happy, happy new year, friends!! I can’t believe it is 2018! Last year was an incredible year for #mmphoto – I got to capture so many beautiful weddings, families & newborns and it makes me giddy to go through all of my photos and select my favorites! Seeing all of the joy on my couples faces, remembering their laughter, that is the good stuff! From the beautiful details, to the apprehensive getting ready moments, to emotional first looks – each piece of the day is truly special. Maddy & Caleb’s outdoor ceremony set amongst evergreen trees, Sindhu & Madhur’s colorful Sikh ceremony enveloped in music, the candle-lit brick backdrop framing Kassie & Eric saying “I Do”. Montana’s sparkling mermaid gown, Jarrett’s sister making the flowers, Kristen & Hoang’s tea ceremony honoring their families. The EPIC dance parties!! I could go on and on about my favorite moments from this year’s weddings – but I’ll let the images do the talking for me! I got an incredibly thoughtful Christmas present this year – a journal filled sporadically with quotes about photography. But what made it even more meaningful was the notes my step-mom added to each page. One example, the printed text reads: “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. – Aaron Siskind” & below, she wrote: “Your amazing talent helps so many to feel, touch + love.” Now I know family is always your biggest cheerleaders, but this really is the core of my photography philosophy. My goal is to help capture these wedding days, these fleeting moments, so my couples & their families can remember not only how their day looked, but how it felt for years to come. That is my greatest joy & my greatest gift. Thank you so much to my wonderful couples who allowed me to capture their love in 2017 – there is a reason my cheeks hurt from smiling so much on a wedding day! You make me smile inside & out. I can’t wait to see what 2018 holds!! xoxo
