Snoqualamie Pass Wedding: Lauren and Rob

Gosh you guys – I am beyond excited to share Lauren & Rob’s incredible Snoqualamie Pass wedding!! This celebration was an absolute dream to be a part of. I was lucky enough to get to know Lauren through my dear friend, Betty. They have been close since living in St. Louis together, and stayed best friends over the years and distance since Betty moved to Seattle. Lauren had a dream of getting married in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and boy did she make it happen. Through discussing location options with me, Betty & a slew of experts (and the help of the internet), Lauren and Rob threw the PNW bash of the year. Not only did they marry with majestic mountains soaring behind them, but also stopped at several other photo locations to perfectly capture the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The team of vendors they assembled was top notch and I was honored to be a part of it. Jessica, their videographer, was one of the most amazing gals I’ve ever worked with. I just wished she lived here in Seattle instead of St. Louis so I could work with her more! Their florist, From the Ground up, created the most unique & inspired wreaths for the bridesmaids, and Jen Lagers, hair & makeup, accentuated Lauren’s natural beauty, giving her the right amount of elegance for the wild backdrops.

The Day

The day began in a flurry of anticipation & activity. Everyone was swirling around getting ready. Lauren upstairs doing hair and makeup, Rob just a floor below tying his tie. Rob had us all in tears as he read Lauren’s note to him. Exchanging cards is one of my favorite modern wedding traditions! Pocket squares folded & dresses buttoned, it was finally time to head over to Gold Creek Pond for their first look. Rob’s reaction to Lauren was one of the most moving things I’ve seen. I had to keep my own tears in check as he struggled to find words! It was beautiful to witness their love for each other all day long.

The Details

The weather forecast was looking dicey all day, but luckily it held out through the entire ceremony at Gold Creek Pond. Again, I was speechless as grateful tears ran down Lauren’s cheeks as they prayed over her marriage before the ceremony. Lauren’s bridesmaid hand sewed the chuppah cover the ceremony space – it was so delicate and beautiful! I also loved the mismatched texture and patterns of the bridesmaid dresses – The pallet couldn’t have gone better with the lush Pacific Northwest scenery.

The Adventure

Lauren & Rob wanted to start their marriage with an adventure, so we all hopped in our cars and drove over to Franklin Falls. Gleefully giggling as her dress swept away with the stream from the waterfall, Lauren held Rob tight as it began to rain. They tossed the umbrella aside, embracing the mist coming off of the waterfall and the gentle PNW rain. Lauren and Rob put their matching rain boots to good use – traipsing through the trees and over the rocks.

Next stop was an intimate dinner in a private room at Salish Lodge overlooking the waterfall. Lauren & Rob shared a champagne toast before we headed over to the reception. I loved that that wanted to share this quiet meal together in the midst of their wedding day. They allowed the ceremony to sink in, enjoying the happiness together. Appropriately, the letter-board at their dessert & cocktail reception read, “To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with.”

Finally, Lauren & Rob arrived at their reception at Betty’s home. The celebration was complete with a signature Rachel’s Ginger Beer cocktail bar and dancing under twinkle lights. A handmade garland wreath hung above them during their first dance.

Lauren & Rob… Congratulations, you guys. I am so excited to see where the joy & friendship of marriage takes you. Wishing you all the happiness, dancing in the rain, and adventures in the years to come! xoxo
