Favorites of 2020

Kevin saw a quote online that said “If you’re grading 2020 on a curve, I’m good.” Oh, do I feel that.

I have so much to be grateful for. Our health, our beautiful house we were able to buy this year, the strength of my marriage, Kevin’s ability to work from home, the success of my photography business, the transition and growth of Om Mama Co., Lemon (always) and many other highs.

I don’t take any of that for granted.

But 2020 also provided some serious growing pains that we didn’t see coming.

COVID has rocked the foundation of our lives. Living with a constant baseline of fear and stress over a global pandemic. Missing seeing and hugging friends and family. Cracking open white supremacy, watching our country in utter division. Trudging through our fertility journey. The total shake up of values and priorities.

I am in awe of the creativity and resilience I have seen from my friends, fellow business owners, and even myself. At times, we have surrendered, and at others we have pushed forward with all our might.

This has been a year where I have felt more connected to my photography work than ever before. These are not just photos, but a piece of me, and pieces of these families.

A Year in Review

I’ve pulled together *just a few* of my favorite images from 2020 - there were far too many to include them all! THANK YOU to each and every family that chose me to capture such a wild and upside down year. I am truly grateful, and am so thrilled with the way my work has grown this year. Thank you.

I am looking forward to taking time this winter to let all of 2020 marinate. To rest, to re-focus, to come out ready on the other side. I have no idea what 2021 will hold, but I am summoning my strength and intention for another year of growth (and hopefully, a baby of our own!).

So here’s to 2020 - I sure as hell wouldn't want to relive it, but I am damn glad we came through the other side. Cheers!
