Rainy Discovery Park Engagement Session

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had with Emily & Alex during their Discovery Park engagement session!! These two love the water so it was a natural fit starting on the beach at West Point Lighthouse. Planning engagement sessions (or any kind of photo session for that matter!) during the spring in Seattle can be tricky - the weather was looking pretty unpredictable as it likes to be in the PNW. I knew that pictures by the water were really important to them so I suggested we start there just incase it starts to rain & I'm so glad we did! It was pretty incredible to watch the storms moving in across the water (scroll down a bit to see) and we had just enough time to bundle up in a blanket on some driftwood before we headed up to the cover of some trees to pop the champagne! The rainΒ was sprinkling off and on on the bluff so these adventurous souls humored me in strolling out into the fields with my favorite clear umbrella. The sun was popping through the trees just a little bit so it made for some truly incredible glowing light as glittery little rain drops fell around them. Finally, the rain really started coming down and Emily and Alex ditched the umbrella, opting for piggy back rides & dancing in the rain - I absolutely LOVED it! We all got drenched, but most of the timeΒ these goofy, playful images are my favorites. Congratulations Emily & Alex - I cannot wait for your wedding at Suncadia later this summer!! xx
