The School Sessions & Giving Back
I have had the opportunity to be a part of several rebuilding projects throughout my life - whether it was with my church & our service trip to the Dominican Republic, or rebuilding houses in New Orleans with the St. Bernard Project (where I met my husband!), I have dug my hands deep, cleared land & nailed wood. Helping people rebuild, restart & renew touches you in a way that no other service work can. When I learned about a project where I could use my passion for photography to help with this kind of service, I was thrilled! I am so excited to be teaming up with The School Sessions (and over 300 other photographers) to help raise $200,000 to build a school in Haiti. On April 12th (Kevin's & my 1st anniversary! - it is amazing how life can come full circle...) I will be photographing & donating session fees to this awesome initiative. This money will buy land and build a ten-classroom school for 220 students. The previous building was destroyed by the 2010 earthquake and these children (ages 3 to 16) are in need of a earthquake and hurricane-proof school to learn and grow. If you're a photographer & interested in joining me, or just want to check in out & learn more, please visit The School Sessions or watch their promo video."By empowering hundreds of photographers across the world with a simple way to give back, together we will meet our goal.
