Bohemian PNW Maternity Session

I am soo excited to share this incredible maternity session today!!! Krista said she had a bohemian, flower-child vision for their maternity photos & was willing to get a little bit out of the city. I knew North Bend would be the perfect spot for them!! I have recently fallen in love with this cute little town – surrounded by gorgeous mountains and serene lakes. Rattlesnake is pretty popular in the summer time, but since we arrived just as the sun was dipping behind the mountain, swimmers & paddle-boarders thinned out.

What to Wear for Maternity Photos

I loved Krista’s chic white maxi dress that was actually her rehearsal dinner dress for their wedding! Depending how you are feeling in your pregnant body, I reccommend wearing lighter colored, fitted dresses for your session. Black dresses don’t show any shadows or shading of your bump & makes it harder to tell it’s there except from the side! Maxi dresses add movement and help you feel extra feminine. Krista looked like a total goddess for their shoot!

Be ready to adventure!

Krista & Matt were down for anything & didn’t hesitate when I asked them to kick their shoes off and climb on top of rocks and wade into the water. Krista even broke out some of her dance moves & had a Sound of Music moment spinning in the fields in front of Mount Si. We both decided that these moments won’t embarrass their daughter, but help her realize how cool her mama is!! The light changed so dramatically during their session. First reflecting off the lake in different hues and then painting Mount Si pink as the sun dipped below the horizon. The glistening wheat fields couldn’t have been more perfect during golden hour. I am so thankful that Krista & Matt were relatively un-phased by the various animal droppings we had to dodge.

Their golden doodle Gunner was such a puppy at their pregnancy announcement session – so it was crazy to see the big boy he had grown in to. He was as full of energy as ever and he was in heaven at Meadowbrook Farms! A true country dog at heart : )

Matt even brought out his Cougs flag to include in some of the shots! Congratulations Krista & Matt – thank you so much for adventuring with me – I cannot wait to meet your baby girl!!!
