Friendship
Man. Where do I start? It was beyond special to get to capture this marriage. I’ve known Brooke for the better part of 4 years. We met working together at Constellation & Co. – she is a letterpress printer & I worked retail in the shop. We would spend our days chatting between customers, sharing our lives with each other. We’d talk about work, grad school, our family and friends. Brooke is the no B.S., this is what’s going on kind of person that really means it when she asks how you are. Not the surface level, “how’s it going” but the deep, caring, can I help in some way, type of friend. She is eternally hopeful and positive through all of the waves life throws her way. And one of the steadfast supports in her life is her partner, Casey.
Love
I watched through Brooke’s eyes how Casey would encourage and take care of her. Brooke is a 100% whole person on her own, but her beauty & strength is magnified by the love and friendship between her and Casey. Through some pretty tough times, Brooke and Casey tied their knot tighter and tighter. This deep sense of commitment was beautifully evident on their wedding day.
Commitment
Brooke & Casey put so much care into the planning of their celebration. They chose an Airbnb on Camano Island where their families could stay, and their friends camped on the property. It is quiet, tucked away in the woods, surrounded by the sounds of nature. They hired local businesses and friends, adding an extra touch of personal love to each decision. Their mutual friend performed the ceremony and another took a wet plate photograph of them afterwards. Brooke & Casey surrounded themselves with their closest family and friends, celebrated with great food & great conversation.
Joy
Brooke & Casey – the joy between you two is infectious. Thank you so much for including me as a part of your wedding day. It meant the world to me to get to photograph two of my dear friends becoming husband and wife! Kevin & I wish you all the happiness life can bring – and find comfort in the difficult seasons of life that you have each other to lean on. You guys are an inspiration to me & I can’t wait to see how you continue to grow your life & relationship together! All my love! xoxo
