Military Homecoming Anniversary Session at Saltar’s Point Beach

Holiday Gratitude
I always feel a little extra sentimental around the holidays. I like to think back on the year and all the things I’m grateful for. It’s capturing love stories like Maddy + Michael’s that fill my heart with happiness!
I have loved photographing this sweet couple over the years. I first met them when Michael was returning home from deployment. This time, he’d just gotten back from another deployment the same day as our session again! It really works in my favor that they hadn’t seen each other in months – they’re totally down with my lovey pose cues!!
For their last session in Washington (for now!) they wanted to explore one of their favorite beaches, Saltar’s Point Beach and enjoy a glass of wine from their favorite vineyard, Chateau Ste. Michelle. When they arrived for their session, they realized though, that they’d forgotten a wine bottle opener! Like any good Army guy, though, Michael figured out how to get into the bottle – even though he ended up with a huge wine stain on his shirt! Luckily, it was at the end of the session and I think we were able to play it off pretty well 🙂
Thank you, Maddy & Michael for having me photograph you guys over the years – it is my greatest joy!
