We are so excited to welcome Otter to the *extended* family!! Kevin’s little sister, Erica, and her fiancee very recently brought this adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy home and we are all totally in love! Otter is technically Lemon’s nephew (it was her sister’s litter!) and they are already having fun playing together! (I’m posting LOTS to Instagram Stories of them together so be sure to follow along!) I’ve been babysitting Otter during the day until he is old enough to go to work with Erica. While he has been a *little* distracting, I’m getting in the groove of having two puppies in the house! Watching them together makes my heart melt. I have a feeling I’m going to be pretty bummed when he’s finally able to go to work! For now I’ll enjoy the snuggles & frequent trips outside for potty training 😉
Puppies are like babies
Alright, I know, don’t judge. But! I can’t believe how much Otter has already grown since I took these photos of him a couple of weeks ago in the studio! I can’t help but think of how quickly the newborns I get to photograph grow too. It is so amazing to have photos from their first weeks at home (puppy, or baby!) to look back on and remember just how tiny they were. And in Otter’s case, when he was too scared to jump off of the couch!
Perks of working from home
One thing I have always loved about working from home is being able to hang out with Lemon all day. Taking her on walks is such a great mental break for me and it’s awesome having an excuse to force me to get some fresh air. She is also a professional cuddle-er. Dogs are amazing at picking up on when you’re stressed or upset. Lemon instinctively knows to come curl up in my lap and have me pet her until I relax. I love that little fur ball to pieces!
Hopefully soon I’ll be able to take some great shots of Lemon & Otter together! We’ll see if I can get them to stay in the same frame together for longer than .5 seconds! Happy Friday!
