It’s about 90 degrees + humidity here in Vietnam so it felt appropriate to share this gorgeous Roche Harbor Resort Wedding from this summer! Brooke & James had an intimate Thursday celebration with close family and friends up in the San Juans this past August. I love how this venue feels like a time warp into a different world – a little vacation from the city where you and your guests can stay a short walk or golf cart ride away from each other and enjoy the simple things in life like a kayak excursion or a cocktail by the water. Everything comes to a halt at sunset when the color guard ceremoniously takes down the flags for the evening and I feel like I’m at some glorious camp for adults. It is a truly magical place & such a wonderful spot for a wedding!
Brooke & James live in LA so we first connected over the phone – they were adamant about having a fun, relaxing, celebratory day with their friends and family and wanted me to capture those little moments of happy tears & joyful laughter. Their ceremony in the sunken garden was probably my favorite part of the day – hearing the officiant weave personal anecdotes about them as a couple into his message, dotted with Brooke’s contagious laughter. There were a lot of kids in attendance so they had a blast with the ceremony bubble exit. We golf-carted over to the mausoleum for a few portraits before we strolled down the docks at sunset. Brooke and James enjoyed beautiful toasts to their marriage and danced into the evening. They fit together like puzzle pieces. Congratulations you two – thank you so much for having me as a part of your celebration! xx
