Seattle Elopement Photographer: Belinda and Devin

I love when my couples get super creative and make their wedding or session completely their own! Belinda & Devin hadn’t decided on a location yet when they reached out to me about photographing their Seattle elopement. After beginning plans for a larger more traditional wedding, they quickly realized that wasn’t for them. Belinda & Devin were excited about the idea of celebrating with close family and friends in their new hometown of Seattle.

They love games, cocktails and their home in West Seattle. We kicked around ceremony location ideas of the courthouse, a swanky bar, and photos near where they met in downtown Seattle. I encouraged Belinda & Devin to embrace their hobbies & not to be afraid of being unique! I was so thrilled when they told me they had decided on having the ceremony in a private room at Cafe Mox. Cafe Mox is a board game store turned play place, restaurant and bar and was the most amazing fit for their celebration.

The more personal, the better!

We started the day at their home in West Seattle. Belinda loved her Who Framed Roger Rabbit inspired sequin dress & Devin was looking sharp in his tux. They toasted with some celebratory whisky and we headed over to Alki for portraits. The skyline was pretty foggy when we arrived but the clouds lifted as we strolled along the water’s edge. These brave souls ventured out for a few quick shots on the pier before we drove over to Ballard.

Belinda and Devin checked into their suite at Hotel Ballard. The rooftop of Hotel Ballard has such a beautiful view of the neighborhood & we lucked out with the rain and snagged a few more portraits. Their close friends joined us at Cafe Mox for their ceremony in the “Red Room”. The lighting is super dramatic and the red velvet backdrop contrasted perfectly with Belinda’s navy sequin dress. Friends recited poems and readings, Belinda and Devin exchanged personal vows, and they sealed it with a kiss (& baby cakes from Cupcake Royale!)

Belinda and Devin – thank you so much for having me as a part of your amazingly unique elopement. It was such a joy getting to capture you two saying “I Do”. Here’s to many nights filled with fine whisky and board games – cheers to you!
