I absolutely love getting to do newborn sessions in my clients’ homes. This is where you brought your little bundle of joy home. It is so special to get to capture them in their own personal, unique space. For at home newborn photography, Moms & Dads don’t have to rush around packing everything up to get in the car and drive to a studio. Everything you can and could need are at your finger tips. Fur-babies are eager to be included. It may be the first time your little one has spent any time at all in their crib, but photographing their tiny little features in the nursery you so carefully prepared for them is priceless. This is exactly why I have chosen to specialize in at home newborn photography.
At home newborn photography isn’t about showing off your Pinterest worthy house, but about capturing where you are at this moment in time. Where you’re learning to get through sleepless nights. What each of those baby cries may mean. At home newborn photography lends itself to baby led posing, cherishing each of those little stretches and curious gazes. My goal as a newborn photographer is to capture you loving on your new baby and holding on to a few quiet frames when all you needed to do in that moment was smell that sweet baby smell and caress those little baby fingers and toes!
How to prepare for your at home newborn session
I loved how Mom & Dad matched baby Riley’s nursery – neutral clothing is always a good backdrop for at home newborn session. Bright colors and patterns can often distract from your baby’s delicate features. Definitely stay away from harsh pinks & greens. These colors end up reflecting onto their skin!
