I am so excited to finally share a little peek at Kelsey & Brian’s “Camp Painter” wedding weekend at Camp Seymour! I met Kelsey a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid for Maggie & Kyle. Needless to say, I was thrilled to get to capture their wedding too! That is truly the biggest honor for me when past clients refer me to their family and friends. It was just an added bonus that I got to hang with Maggie again all weekend since she was a bridesmaid!
I arrived at Camp Seymour in Gig Harbor on Friday in time to check into my cabin and snag a few shots of the welcoming dinner party. I loved how Kelsey & Brian really wanted their guests to have a full wedding weekend experience, complete with camp activities, s’mores, and sleeping in cabins. It was really like traveling back in time, feeling like a kid enjoying summer camp. Saturday morning arrived with our fair share of rain, but that didn’t stop some of the campers from enjoying a morning kayak ride! I popped back and forth between Kelsey & Brian’s cabins as they got ready with their friends. Kelsey & Brian had put so much thought into all of their wedding day details and it was so fun to see it all come together. My favorite PNW themed details included their guest favors – custom enamel mugs with their “Camp Painter” logo on them. Brian’s surprise groom’s cake even featured a little sugar tent and campfire! I also of course loved that they included their pup, Oliver, in some portraits!
Since it was pouring rain, they decided to have the ceremony in the camp’s auditorium space, and it was gorgeous! Their florist, Julia, created a stunning backdrop filled with flowers and romantic candles. It was fun to have to get a little creative with the rain for portraits, but I think cabins & bubble umbrellas are always a good idea! Kelsey & Brian – I can thank you enough for treating me like family throughout the entire planning process & the wedding weekend (and beyond!) I am so lucky to get to have such wonderfully kind & generous clients like you and I can’t wait to see where life takes you (& your pup!) Cheers to you! xo
