Your session price includes your edited high resolution images in a downloadable online gallery and printing rights.

Number of final images varies based on how long your session is. Full sessions tend to be around 75-100 images, minis are about 25-50 images, lifestyle around 150-200.

Turn around time is 2-3 weeks. I typically send you a sneak peek within a couple of days!

I do charge $1 per mile outside a 30 mile radius from Seattle city center.

Amazing! Let’s set a date & I’ll get you set up with your online portal! I’ll send you a contract to sign & ask for a $100 deposit which can be made online or via Venmo. Your remaining balance will be due at your session either by check made out to Meredith McKee LLC or by Venmo to @Meredith-Ruth.
Q: What happens if it rains?
It happens a lot in the PNW! Check out this blog post here!
Q: We want to go somewhere epic for our session – are you down with that?
Um, YES! I love going on adventures with my families. Mount Rainier, Snoqualmie, Camano Island, you name it – let’s do it!
Q: What time should we shoot?
A: The best lighting is within two hours of sunrise and sunset. That’s how I’m able to get that beautiful glowing light! However, I do understand that PNW summer sunsets can be way past bedtime for your little ones. If your kiddo would have a complete meltdown staying up later, I can make any time of day work. I just like to avoid mid-day (11am-4pm) when the sun is brightest (and harshest).
Q: Can we include our dog?
A: Absolutely! I love when my clients include their pups – they are part of the family!
Q: Who are “Forever Clients?”
A: It is one of my greatest joys to get to photograph my couples & families year after year. I love building friendships with my clients, and that they trust me with each of their milestones. This is why so many of my clients become “Forever Clients” – When you hire me, you’re not just getting a photographer, but someone who genuinely loves to celebrate your adventures with you!
Q: What should we wear for our family session?
A: Check out these posts here! Spring + Summer // Fall + Winter
Other Tips:
Take everything out of your pockets ex. keys, phones, wallets (and hair-ties off wrists!) I recommend bare feet during newborn sessions and indoor family sessions. If you must wear socks, avoid dingy and athletic socks!
Maternity + Newborn FAQ
Q: When do people typically book?
A: It depends! Some people book earlier on in their pregnancy (once you hit second trimester, typically). Some people book earlier for announcement photos and/or gender reveal sessions! Some people also book for just newborn photos and reach out to me later in their pregnancy.
Q: When should we do maternity photos?
A: I suggest aiming for the 33-34 week range. This way, you’re rocking a beautiful bump, but aren’t totally uncomfortable yet. I’ve also had many experiences with baby coming early, and we want to make sure we get those maternity photos in!
Q: Do you use props during newborn sessions?
A: You won’t see any baskets or delicate wraps in my portfolio. I am for natural, lifestyle photography. That being said, if you’d like to include your own props in your session, such as swaddles, toys or headbands, just let me know!
Q: What time should we shoot?
A: For maternity portrait sessions, the lighting is best within 2 hours of sunrise and sunset. For in-home newborn sessions, whenever your home is most well lit, typically late morning.
Q: How long do maternity sessions last?
A: Sessions typically last about 45 minutes to an hour. You are welcome to change outfits during your full maternity session!
Q: How long do newborn sessions last?
A: Sessions typically last about an hour and a half depending on how your baby is feeling. If you need to feed, change, etc. that is totally fine! Sessions typically occur within 2-3 weeks of birth. I recommend 2-3 outfits including a neutral white onesie & a swaddle look.
