One of my favorite toast stories this year was how John’s family had a sick calf on their ranch when he was growing up. It wasn’t able to walk & was struggling to heal. John took care of the calf day in and day out until it was better. His brother teared up while he told this story of John’s unending loyalty and patience. John put this sense of dedication to work as he grew older and chose a career serving in the Navy. And then, just by chance, Both John & Hailey swiped right on Tinder. Hailey is equally kind and radiates positivity. She has a calming sense of peace, even during the hectic morning of the wedding. These are good people.
It was a crisp fall day in Seattle, miraculously drenched in sunshine. Hailey and John exchanged gifts during their first look – John giving Hailey a gorgeous watch, and Hailey giving her Texan an ornament of cowboy boots telling him he could pick out a brand new pair. We took photos by a schoolhouse across the street & headed to Green Lake for some more shots. Their ceremoy was simple and elegant, taking place in their church that serves as a cornerstone for their faith and commitment.
Everyone headed to 415 Westlake for the reception. The urban space was covered in votives and twinkle lights, accented by golden balloons and wooden flower boxes. Guests dipped and decorated caramel apples and indulged in apple crisp. Everyone danced into the night & Hailey and John were sent off to their Hawaiian honeymoon with glow-sticks – one of my new favorite trends. Congratulations, you two, your day was as lovely as you are!
