Lord Hill Farms Winter Wedding

New students started pouring into a Sammamish elementary school – Danielle had spent part of the summer beginning her student-teaching, so on the first day of school, she noticed a new face among the faculty. Scott was hired as the new PE teacher, and they immediately started making excuses to chat with each other throughout the school day. After a year of casual lunchroom conversations and secret out-of-school get togethers, they made it official. Having friends that are teachers, whose kids seem to constantly be trying to set them up with fellow young co-workers, I can only imagine how thrilled their students were at the match!!

Danielle & Scott love their pup, Beau, and have season tickets for the Sounders – we quickly hit it off! I love their goofy, fun attitudes & their willingness to withstand some chilly temperatures on their December wedding date. Danielle wore a white North Face fleece in between shots over her ballgown wedding dress and looked absolutely adorable.  Lord Hill Farms is one of my favorite venues to shoot at – summer or winter! It is set in the gorgeous Snohomish valley, surrounded by rolling hills. There is so much variety for portraits, rain or sun, from natural evergreen trees to manicured flowers.

Danielle & Scott’s ceremony was set inside with glowing candlelight and dramatic cloudy skies visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows behind them. I snuck them outside for a few portraits under twinkle lights at twilight & they danced the night away surrounded by their family and friends. Cloudy winter days in the Pacific Northwest give such a moody feel to my photographs – I love how it captures the feel of the day and invites guests in for a cozy celebration.

Danielle & Scott – Thank you so much for having me capture your marriage – I feel so blessed to have been a part of it & can’t wait to see you at some Sounders games this season! Best wishes to you two & many happy years ahead! Cheers!

This was Scott’s dad after his little brother said “If you don’t get it right the first time, try again” during his toast. Everyone was in stitches! I also loved their DIY “Hitched” sign & fabric wall that hung behind their sweetheart table – so cute!!

These were some of my favorite portraits of the whole day! So romantic!
