Winter Wedding at Historic 1625 Tacoma

Remember that awkward prom pic your parents saved of you from high school? Terrible hair, awful dress, uncomfortable smiles? That’s how Linsey & Cortlee‘s photo slideshow started at the beginning of the ceremony. The two of them smashed in a group photo circa seventeen years old. Little did they know at that moment that years later, they would be tying the knot & joining their lives together.

Linsey & Cortlee chose the perfect palette for their winter wedding. Blush, ivory, champagne, gold. While it wasn’t quite cold enough to snow outside, inside everything was cast in glittering candlelight, cozy & festive. They began their day at their church, Beautiful Savior Lutheran in SeaTac. I think there is something so sweet and nostalgic about prepping for your wedding day in Sunday school classrooms – it really brings everything full circle. After an emotional first look, we collected under the church’s covered walkway for bridal party portraits. These guys were troopers despite the less-than-lovely January weather!

Guests delighted in watching Linsey & Cortlee’s photo slideshow looking back on their lives individually and as a couple. Linsey’s mother passed away a few years ago, so Linsey decided to honor her mother in several ways throughout the wedding day. As her father walked her down the isle, she left a bouquet of roses where her mother would have been sitting for the ceremony. I thought this was a beautiful gesture, honoring her place on this day. The couple tearfully spoke their vows & were pronounced man and wife. After the ceremony, we piled into cars and headed to Historic 1625 Tacoma Place for the reception!

Mercury glass votives, antique gold frames and sequin runners set the stage for an evening of celebration. I love all of the natural brick & dramatic lighting at 1625 Historic – it is the perfect winter wedding venue! I was able to snag a few more portraits of them – I was especially digging the cow scull hanging above the brick doorway since I had just been in Santa Fe the weekend before. All of Linsey’s romantic gold accents tied everything together beautifully. They ate, laughed, & danced the night away. A perfect fairytale ending to & beginning for their love story.

Linsey & Cortlee – thank you so much for trusting me to capture your celebration of marriage. It was a blessing to document it & I’m wishing you, and Addison, many many happy years together! Cheers!

Even though they did a first look, I absolutely loved Cortlee’s reaction to seeing Linsey walking down the isle! The fact that he was getting married finally hit him and he was overwhelmed with joy!

Linsey also had a portrait of her mother that she sat in this spot & at her table during the reception. I love how Linsey showed her love for her mom.

Is this little flower girl not the cutest thing?!

They’re married! Time to head to the reception at 1625 Historic!
