Alright it’s official – if your name is Kevin & I have something to do with your wedding – you’ll definitely be wearing a dashing bow tie! Two weddings in a row my groom-Kevins have rocked this look, and my own husband-Kevin wore a bow tie for our wedding! Needless to say, this southerner-at-heart digs it! I absolutely loved getting to celebrate Brie & Kevin’s marriage at Kiana Lodge last weekend. Definitely a new favorite venue! It was so beautiful taking the Seattle to Bainbridge ferry over in the morning (and equally beautiful seeing the city lit up at night!) and arriving at Kiana Lodge. Their ceremony was set up overlooking the sweeping Puget Sound & their reception prep in the lodge was beginning set up. I’m obsessed with the star lanterns they have hanging from the rafters & the overall indoor/outdoor feel of the venue. Covered walkways are lined with live plants and trees, blooming through cutouts in the ceiling. The tide went out as the day wore on revealing a welcoming beach which we took advantage of during sunset pictures.
Brie & Kevin had met back in grade school, but didn’t actually start dating until they were both at UW. They love going on outdoor adventures together any time of year, and are even spending their honeymoon rock climbing in the south of France! What! They both had such a quiet sweetness about them and I loved capturing their subtle gestures of love toward each other. Brie would nod her head as she smiled – giggling to herself in her happiness. The rain clouds played games with us all day, but these outdoor-lovers got their fairytale wedding on the beach surrounded by their family & friends. Brie is actually graduating from medical school at the end of this month (from my alma mater UVA! go hoos!) & the newlyweds will be moving back west for her residency in June. There’s no shortage of excitement for them this summer! Congratulations Brie & Kevin – it was a joy capturing your love!! Here’s to many more adventures (as wild and crazy as you want!) to come! Cheers!

Kevin’s nephew was the ring bearer & had an absolute blast throwing the petals down the aisle!!
Brie’s aunt did such an amazing job with the centerpieces & bouquets!! I loved the mix of greenery & spring flowers!
What you couldn’t hear during the cake cutting was the wild hooting and hollering going on behind me! It was hilarious!!
Brie did dance in high school so all of her friends performed a choreographed routine that they did back in the day – it was a total blast & Brie loved joining in toward the end!
